AMA events now qualify for Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) CPD hours
05/01/2010

Like the Arts Marketing Association (AMA), The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) is committed to supporting marketers throughout their career and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) lies at the heart of everything they do. It means that all the knowledge, training, qualifications and support they deliver is geared towards developing effective marketing professionals.
The CIM Chartered CPD programme provides marketers with a framework for managing their own development and the means to achieve and maintain Chartered Marketer status. Through active involvement in the programme marketers gain formal recognition for their commitment to staying up to date with industry developments and improving their knowledge and skills.
Members on the CIM Chartered CPD programme can claim hours for learning activities, delivered by CIM or elsewhere (now including the AMA), that are based on marketing, sales or general business disciplines.
How the CIM Chartered CPD programme works- Anyone wishing to be involved in the CIM Chartered CPD Programme has to be a current member with CIM. Registration to the programme is completed at no additional cost to the membership fee.
Click register for the programme for more information. - Those on the programme are required to undertake 35 hours of CPD in order to successfully complete the year. If successful they receive a certificate from the CIM. Click earning CPD hours for more information
- Those who successfully complete two consecutive years and who are at the higher levels of CIM membership (i.e. MCIM or FCIM) then achieve Chartered Marketer status.
Click Chartered Marketer status for more information. - Once Chartered status is achieved, members are required to continue the same level of CPD activity, but are only required to send CIM the details if they are selected in the random 10% audit of Chartered Marketers the CIM runs each year.
- Chartered Marketer status can only be retained for as long as CIM membership remains current and CPD activity is maintained. If marketers are selected in the annual 10% audit and fail to give evidence of their CPD activity, they lose their Chartered status.
Eligible activities
Within the programme, learning and development activities are divided into 10 categories, each of which has a maximum number of hours that can be allocated to it each year.
